Stuck
Daniel kept screaming at me from the TV room while I cooked dinner. Finally I realized he was saying "I'm stuck!" This is what I walked in on. I took his picture and left him for a little while longer. Who knew the lego stool could double as toddler containment?!

Daniel at the Dentist
Show me your teeth!
Daniel had his first visit to the Dentist today! Dr. Jim Makowski is our family dentist. Mommy spends quality time (and Money) with his practice and we thought it would be a good thing to get Mr. D used to the strange office with the cool people and even cooler toy chest. Daniel was of course EXCELLENT! He charmed the ladies and did everything the hygienist asked him to. He let Johnny Ann take him back to the room and sit him in the chair without Mom going with him! By the time mom joined after the paperwork was complete, Daniel was reclined in the chair and having his front teeth polished. No cavities for Daniel!

Meal Time Prayers
We are trying to instill some Catholic/Christian rituals into our children. One of these is to say a blessing before our evening meal. Grandmommy commented on how surprised she was that even Daniel 'knows' the words to the Hail Mary! This is just a portion of the dinner time cacophony we offer up every night. Usually Ana is squealign and clapping through the whole prayer because she knows that she gets food after we make the sign of the cross.

Family Update
We have not had a "family update" on the blog in awhile. So when the school picture proofs came in, we thought it would be a good time to write one. And by we I mean Chad :)
First of all, everybody has been really good lately and relatively healthy (knock on wood). As everybody is probably well aware, this flu season has been particularly bad. We have had atleast one family member sick continuously since about Thanksgiving. I could go through the litany, but that would take way too long and most of you are probably aware of the high points (low points?). As of right now, we are only dealing with stuffy noses and ear infections, which are welcome after our Dec-Feb.
Ana recently got first round of ear tubes and is now a cacophony of new sounds and words. She can ask (scream) for more food and nods and shakes her head appropriately when asked familiar questions. She spends her weekday evenings running after the boys, stuffing her face (the kid can pack it away), and getting stories read to her. Weekends are spent running errands with either mom or dad. She is a really good shopper. She has been successfully weaned off of every bottle and is still sleeping through the night (score!).
Daniel is just Daniel. He is still the comedian of the family and never fails to provide a laugh even when he is doing something he shouldn’t be. He continually impresses both us and his teachers with his interpersonal, academic and physical skills. Daniel’s weekday evenings are spent coloring (while Charlie works on homework) and refusing to eat dinner. On the weekends, Daniel goes to gymnastics class and loves riding his bike. We will be working with him this upcoming weekend on potty-training. Wish us luck!
All the big news is Charlie’s. Lately we have been investigating and applying for elementary schools for Charlie. HE start 1st Grade in the Fall. Where has the time gone? He has been accepted at a couple of great schools, but we are still waiting to hear back on our two top choices (one public and one private). Charlie recently underwent an academic evaluation for our top Catholic school choice and he did very well. The instructors that conducted the interview were impressed with his three R’s. He also got a major complement (from a nun, no less) on his manners. I think Mom was almost reduced to tears when Sister Maria told us the she remembered Charlie from a previous visit because he had such wonderful manners. Outside of school, Charlie has only three months left on chemo, yea!!! We are in the midst of trying to plan a big party in June as well as a celebratory vacation in August. As I mentioned before, Charlie spends his evenings doing homework and occasionally gets to watch his favorite show (which right now is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). His weekends are still pretty blah, but lately we have been able to drag him to a pretty kickin’ new park (which Ang has mentioned on the blog).
Angela has been settling into her new job. For those who might not know, she started with IBM at the new year and has been taking a lot of trips for training. She is still able to work from the house which is nice. Before you ask, I have only a vague clue about what she does, so I’ll just make something up and it will be maybe 50% accurate. If you asked her what I do, it would be the same way, she’d tell you that I am a glorified plumber, which is no less than 50% right. Her new position is a technical sales rep. She is a part of a new team that IBM is putting together to sell one of their big products, essentially the one they talk about in all the current IBM commercials on tv (the product that supports the “smart grid”, machinery that communicates, etc.). At least that’s her job as I see it in my head and sounds pretty important, so that’s what I sticking with.
Work-wise, I am pretty much status-quo. My big project in Alabama has started construction so that’s pretty exciting. Our office is really busy, which is nice. We have pretty much tripled in size since I started a little over a year ago. My big news is that I am now a Minivanner (or Vinnie-van as the kids call it). Yep, I am a minivan-dad and I am lovin’ it. The car is a complete paradox. It is both totally uncool and completely awesome at the same time. I take the kids to school almost every day and it is so much easier to get them in and out of compared to the Tahoe. It has lots of bells and whistles as well as seat heat which actually works. If you can’t tell, I am pretty happy about it. Sad to say, that is pretty much the only big news for myself, but that’s just the way it goes sometimes.
Other than that, we are all (mom and dad, in particular) just looking forward to warmer weather so we can enjoy the outdoors more.
