Friday nights should be fun. The week is over and we're looking forward to the weekend. Friday night is the point at which you have the most weekend ahead of you. This Friday, we celebrated with everybody's favorite . . . Brinner! Admit it. If you could, you would have breakfast for dinner every night and Hooper House is no different. Brinner is doubly great for Mom and Dad because it's also one of the few nights that we don't have to cajole and argue with everybody about eating their
supper er . . . breakfast. Tonight, it was pancakes and a whole mess of bacon. YUM!
Michael, taking the occasion of not having any teeth to eat solids, serenaded the family with a little mariachi music. The rhythm section was a bit sporadic and the lack of a melody was a bit concerning, but the dancing was very entertaining. All around it was a nice effort on his part and everybody appreciated the sentiment.
When all the bacon was consumed and the last rattles of the maraca faded, the sad occasion that is the end of brinner set in. But that didn't mean the end of Friday Night Fun. Not long after all the plates were cleared our den broke out in some kind of post-pancake tribal ritual. This event was captured and documented for the first time in history with the photograph below.
It is believed by many anthropologists that the natives engage in this custom as a means to expend the high caloric intake of syrup. The presence of this highly coveted breakfast nectar also explains the lack of any ritualistic garb, as the consumption of syrup laden pancakes often results in very sticky accoutrement.
