Evelyn's 14m Pictures
Charlie's cousin Evelyn had her 14m pictures on Saturday and I have created a picassa albumn with the proofs for the Secker's here: Link I think family can download all of the low resolution images this way too.

Above are Charlie's Valentines that he gave out at pre-school this year. They met with Daddy's "Manly-ness" approval.

Potty Day
Saturday was the big Potty training day! We followed the instructions from Aunt Lisa and bought our doll that wets and it came with this book and dvd. Early Saturday morning we got up and had breakfast, and taught the baby doll how to go potty like a big boy. Next we told Charlie it was time to wear big boy underpants too! He had a pretty big melt down because he was already dressed and didn't want to walk around without his jeans on. After he calmed down he did agree to the undies with Cars on them.
Charlie had about 4 accidents before lunch and we made plenty of "practice potty" runs. By lunch, he would go in the potty after an accident, but had yet to tell us he had to go. About half way through a grilled cheese sandwich he told us he wanted to go potty! He did both 1 & 2 in the potty and we knew it was finally sinking in. Charlie wore a pull up during nap time and woke up dirty, which was expected.
After nap time Charlie told us three times in a row that he had to potty! He had one accident close to dinner time and cried during all of the 10 "practice potty runs." After dinner we had a few more successful potty times before we put the exhausted toddler in pull ups and stuck him in bed!
Sunday morning Charlie woke up with a SOAKED pull up. After breakfast Charlie told Mommy he had to potty and did 1&2 again! So far we have had plenty of dry pants checks and he understands that he doesn't get M&M's for treats today, that he is a Big Boy! We plan on having a "bye-bye diapee" ceremony perhaps before naptime.

Baby Doll
This is another tough photo to discern, but I bought the Potty Scotty doll for Charlie to learn how to use the toilet. Charlie saw the doll and made me take it out of the box. He carried it around the house talking to "baby," feeding "baby," and changing the baby's diapee. It was super cute. I have always heard that even little boys need a baby doll at some point. I have a feeling they have them at school and that is where he picked up on it. Just in time too considering he is going to teach baby how to use the potty this weekend!
