Thanksgiving in Texas

Most of the cousins on Grandmommy's sofa. Just missing the Seckers and the Freymullers.(Evelyn,Sam,Barrett)

We took the kids to Tyler for Thanksgiving this year. We drove, with three kids under the age of 6. It was awesome :) I had the idea to rent a minivan so we had more room and better gas mileage. The "Vinny-van," as Daniel called it, was a BIG hit. The Chrysler Town and Country has the stow and go seats. Totally spoiling the kids by allowing one of the seats to be stowed and a makeshift pallet on the floor for a bed. Nana drove with us and evened out the adult to kid ratio.

The Hooper kiddos enjoyed seeing all of their cousins and eating non-stop. We had first Thanksgiving on Thursday at "Aunt Daphs'" new house in Chandler with Mommy's side of the family. The boys loved fishing off the dock and seeing the horses. Ana enjoyed being held, by Everyone and getting bites of pie from each plate. It was a bit sad since this was the first Thanksgiving without Granny Joan and she would have been 90 that week. It was a passing on of the event to the next generation. It was nice to be together without a funeral being the reason.

Back in Tyler we had another Thanksgiving dinner on Friday with Daddy's family and the Calloways even came down to visit and give thanks.

The drive back to Colorado was long and the boys didn't understand why we had to give back the vinny-van. They wanted it to "live" with us forever. Hertz rentals wouldn't have liked that very much....
